Mayo Clinic: Round 2

Yes... You read that correctly! Only nine months after visiting the Mayo Clinic in Florida and six months after a trip to MD Anderson in Houston, we are having Matt tested again at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
From Monday through Friday of this week, Matt is going through many tests and consults with doctors. To say it's exhausting is an understatement, but we so are lucky to be here trying to find answers from these world renowned doctors! Hopefully we will get some answers this time around! I know many people have commented on my facebook and twitter that they are thinking about us and that we are in their prayers. We appreciate that so much! It's a great feeling to know so many prayers are being sent our way! Just wanted to let everyone know why the blog has been empty lately and I hope to update again soon!

One really cool thing about Rochester, MN is the fact that you rarely have to walk outside! They have a skywalk/subway system that offers indoor walking through almost every building downtown. Our hotel is about 4 blocks away from the main part of the Mayo clinic. Temperatures are in the single digits with wind chill Tuesday at minus-17 and we haven't even worn our big coats! It's so crazy! Whoever thought of this amazing idea is a genius!

Another cool thing... Rochester has a Chipotle Restaurant!

I have NEVER eaten at one but have always wanted too! I love Fayetteville's Flying Burrito and everyone tells me that if I love FB then I'll die over Chipotle! We are going to eat there tonight and I can't wait to tell you how good the food is :)

Unfortunately, there's not a skywalk from our hotel to Chipotle. We had thought about bundling-up and walking the one mile journey... but the front desk said that would be a super long/cold walk!! haha! It would be a problem anyway because the roads are covered with snow and ice.

Matt took these photos with his IPhone the first night we got here. He walked to a gas station to get snacks and said the roads were really slick. He was amazed because nobody seemed to care. Small cars and 2-wheel-drive vehicles were all over the place! It's obvious that people in Minnesota are used to dealing with winter weather. They don't freak out like all of us in Arkansas! HA!

Praying for you and Matt!
Chipolte is SOOOOOO good. Hope you like it!
I guess if you lived in MN - you would come up with the skywalk idea after too many walks outside. ha!

You are going to love Chipotle! Yum yum! When I lived in my college town (Lexington, KY), I loved eating there. The closest one to where I live now is about an hour away, but I love getting a chance to eat there - the burrito bowl is my fave!

Hope you can give us a great update on your hubby's results! Prayers and blessings to you!

Praying for you and Mat too girl! Hope you all finally get some answers this time!!

Those sky walks are so cool - those should be everywhere. It would be great to have them for the cold weather and the HOT weather too!

Let us know how Chipolte is . . . I've always wanted to try it too!

Again, good luck with everything and thinking of you!

Hey Girl, love your blog!! My husband overnights in Rochester for work (works for the airlines) and I've tagged along there with him. I love that town. Go to Newts for dinner or lunch one day. It's a local little burger joint. It's wonderful. All of the airline crew members go on overnights because it's yummy! Just ask the hotel folks where it is. We go every time, best burgers ever!

I love Rochester, I live in Minneapolis. If you like a good deal, they have the BEST TJ Maxx! Your take on the weather is cracking me up-- I actually saw a guy riding his bike to work this morning-HA! Good luck at Mayo.

I stumbled upon your blog from Kelly's Korner...saw the "Mayo Clinic" and had to check it out. I'm a born and raised Rochester girl and now back there with my hubby while he does his training at Mayo. Love the town! If you have time, go eat at Chester's. It's my favorite and everything on the menu is soo good. I don't know the history of why you are at Mayo, but you are in great hands...there's no where I'd rather be than Roch Mayo for medical care. Praying that it goes well for you. Feel free to email if you need anything while you are in Rochester.
