I want to remember the details of Preslee's birthday so better late than never...

Monday, the day before my induction I went for my 39 week appt. I was dilated to a 3 and 90% effaced. I had been having lots of contractions but my doctor thought I would make it until I checked in to the hospital at 6am the next morning. My mom was in town and we ran a few errands after my appt. I remember having to stop in the middle of the aisle at Target to breath through a strong contraction!

We came home after picking up dinner and the contractions kept coming! By 9:30, mom was laying in bed with me and we were counting contractions! Matt's mom, Lisa was on her way to Fayetteville but my dad was going to get up early and drive up. By 10:30, I text Matt who was finishing up the newscast and told him that I thought we were going to have to go to the hospital because the contractions were getting so painful. He came straight home, showered and packed our stuff. We were getting ready to leave the house around 12:30 and my water broke! It scared me because it happened so fast! I changed clothes quickly and we jumped in the car. I had REALLY strong contractions all the way to the hospital that is just 10 min away.

When I got my room around 1:15am, I was dilated to a 5 and 100% effaced! I couldn't believe I was really in labor and was going to be actually having a baby!! And I wanted my epidural ASAP! We called our moms and they came up to the hospital. My dad left in the middle of the night and drove 85mph all the way! And my friends Jennifer and Jill also headed up to be with us at the hospital.

I was having VERY strong contractions and about 2-3 min apart! I went from a 5 to a 7 in a hour and the anesthesiologist was taking his sweet time! He finally got there after 2 hours of the most intense pain I have ever felt! I didn't take any kind of birthing class so I was just breathing through the pain any way I knew how! I couldn't talk to anyone and didn't want anyone to talk to me! ha!

After the epi, I was checked and was an 8+! I never wanted to feel labor pain. I planned to get the epi as soon as I could so I was in shock that I had just gone to an 8 without an pain meds! The epidural kicked in and I felt SO much better. The epidural slowed my labor down, but that gave my dad extra time to make it! :)

My brother, SIL and nephew also came up to the hospital in the middle of night to be with us!

Once it was time for me to push, my parents, Lisa and Matt stayed in the room. We had a big room so my dad could stand off to the side and video. I was so glad to have our parents in there with us to experience the long awaited birth of their granddaughter!

Quick pic with my dr before pushing! :) I was so thankful she came up to deliver even though she wasn't on call!

The moment I saw our baby girl is a moment that I will never forget! We all were so emotional and couldn't believe she was really here! Best moment of my life!!
I love this picture so much! Priceless!
Having our first mother-daughter chat! :)
My best friend, Jennifer getting to meet Preslee! I love that we have been with each other for the births of our kids and now get to be moms together!

I dreamed of this day all my life. I will not forget the sad days of infertility but I know after seeing my baby girl that every thing is for a reason and she is the baby God had waiting for me!

Okay I'm crying too! I have followed your story from before you found out you were pregnant with Preslee. I don't think I have ever commented. I'm so happy for you! She is just beautiful. From another mom who has experienced infertility then the beautiful blessing of becoming a mom -- the best gift ever.

Honestly, it's sometimes hard for me to continuously pray for someone I don't really know but your story has touched my heart ever since I began reading your blog, while you were going through a battle with infertility. Your family's story weighed heavy on my heart from the very beginning and I have consistly prayed hard for you and your family while y'all bravely endured this journey. This post brought many tears to my eyes; your story gives me such encouragement and inspiration to trust God whole-heartedly no matter what you happen to be enduring in life. Thank you so much for allowing us to take a glimpse into your family's life. Love, Kelly F.

So sweet! I remember when I first laid eyes on Jade, I felt like I was being reunited with someone who I had known my whole life. It really felt like my life was complete when they put her in my arms. I'm so glad you had a good birth experience!
