Grandfathers

Preslee is a lucky girl who has 4 living grandfathers who absolulety adore her! I've talked about all of them before but I wanted to dedicate a post to them. I want Preslee to remember how much she meant to these sweet men!

Piggy, her great-great grandfather, is Lisa's maternal grandfather. Ever since Matt and I got married, he's always said he wanted us to have a blue-eyed baby girl! He finally got his wish but unfortunately he has memory loss and doesn't know who we are most of the time. But it doesn't matter because every time he's seen her, Piggy lights up and can't take his eyes off Preslee! He loves to hold her and always talks about how active she is even though she's so young!
Preslee- You are very blessed to have had the chance to meet your great great grandfather! Even though you won't remember Piggy, it's a true treasure to have a relative who's 5 generations older than you! Luckily we have lots of pictures and video of Piggy and Preslee together!

Next is G-Dad. He is Lisa's father. He had 4 daughters and one granddaughter so he's definitely in his element with her! G-Dad is a wonderful example of a hard working man who has worked multiple jobs and continues to stay busy even after retiring! He always wants to come see Preslee when we're in town and he's always been able to get her to laugh!
Preslee-  I am sure there will be many fun times ahead playing with G-Dad! He has a really neat motorhome that you will love playing in very soon!

Papaw is my maternal grandfather! He is the only grandfather that I have ever known and that makes him extra special to me. I have so many precious memories of going to Florida every summer with him and spending time at their house in Tennessee. He has never missed a Christmas morning with us and was even with Preslee for her first Christmas!
Preslee- Papaw prayed so hard that you would be a girl! He has fallen in love and wants daily pictures of you. He tells me all the time how lucky I am and how he wishes he lived closer so he could see you all the time!

Then there is my dad, Pop or Peepop! I love seeing him with my baby! He means so much to me and I know Preslee will love being around him as much as I do. He has worked so hard his whole life and has made sure that my brother and I have had everything we ever needed and wanted in life.
Preslee- Your Pop loves you so much! I think you remind him of me as a baby and that brings back special memories for him. He loves to get on the floor and play with you and can't wait to do more fun things with you as you get older!

Matt's dad passed away in 2005 from Leukemia. We miss him so much and are sad that Preslee didn't get to meet him. He would have been obsessed with her! We like to try to think about what he would say about her. I know one thing, he would have talked about her every Sunday to his congregation. His church probably would have gotten tired of hearing all about Preslee! We have many pictures, videos and sermons on tape that we will show her so she knows all about her Grandpa Gary!

Such a great post, Julee. My dad passed away when I was 5. I'm always talking about him or showing Parker pictures. Parker will see a picture of him and say "paw paw". It sure warms my heart that even though my dad is not here, Parker will always know who he is.

Julee, I don't leave many comments but this post brought tears to my eyes. My father in law passed away in May from cancer. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant and I know it will be so hard on him, not having his dad here to share that with. Thank you for sharing this! Preslee is so lucky to have so many great men in her life!

My dad passed away in 1994 when I was 17...we always say that he met our daughter before we did. I like to think that there is a special connection in Heaven with our passed loved ones and our children <3

My husbands father passed away in 2007. A year later we welcomed our second little boy that looks just like him and acts alot like him! This March my sister in law welcomed her little girl. Its so sad that my husbands father isnt here on Earth to see them. They both have dimples in the same spot and we like to say it was his angle kisses!
