Our first baby shower!

Yesterday I had my very own baby shower! It was such a surreal but wonderful feeling knowing that it was finally my turn to have a baby shower! I have always loved to help host and attended so many of my friend's baby showers but I always dreamed of what it would be like when it was MY shower!

I have to say that it was the most perfect shower!! My friends went out of their way to make sure that there was no detail spared! I truly felt so special and loved every minute of the shower!

The front door had a cute little sign welcoming everyone to Julee and Preslee's shower! Also they had my growing belly pics along with some ultrasound pics hanging in the frame for people to see as they walked in!

The invitation along with all the signs had the crib bedding pattern on it! It all matched and looked so cute!
The wonderful hostesses that I am truly blessed to call my friends!
Just a few weeks until we meet Annabel!! Emily at 36 weeks, me at 30!
I was so happy to have my Mom and Matt's mom at the shower today! They are going to be the best grandmas and Miss Preslee is completely spoiled by them already!
Jennifer made these precious banana pudding cups! She used food dye to make the pudding pink! These were so precious and tasted amazing!
Along with the cake and banana pudding, we had fruit kabobs, veggies with ranch, pita chips with cheesy spinach dip, and a delicious dessert called Death by chocolate!
This set-up was so pretty! The mirror is actually from Preslee's nursery so it really tied the theme together!
Once again, Rick's Bakery out did themselves on the cake! Perfect!!
I have talked about it on the blog before, but I LOVE cotton candy! The favor for all the guest was this yummy pink cotton candy!
The cotton candy table was just too cute! The sign on the table said Thanks for celebrating Sweet Preslee.
The guest had coffee punch, Peach tea punch or water to drink with all the yummy foods!
We received so many sweet things for our baby girl!! I am going to share more pics of those gifts along with more pics of friends that were there to help spoil Preslee this week!

22 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 22 weeks
Size of baby: 10.9 inches long and around 1lb 1 ounce- WHOO HOO! Love that she finally weighs a pound!
Weight gain: 9.5 pounds
Maternity Clothes: Yes! All bottoms and a few maternity tops mostly for the length! Mom got me new jeans for my birthday and I am looking forward to Fall so I can wear them! :)
Gender: A GIRL!!! Preslee Bell Turner
Movement: Feeling her move every day! Our moms have gotten to feel her little thumps and Matt LOVES that he can feel her all the time now! When she moves, it makes me think more about her even more than I already do and sometimes I even talk to her when she moves a lot! I hope she is comforted by my voice!
Sleep: Sleeping really well and don't need quite as much of it!
Symptoms: The (what I think is) gallbladder pain, isn't getting much better. I have a hard time with a low/no fat foods. I need to do better because I have noticed its a little better when I don't eat fattening stuff.
What I miss: I have dreamed of being pregnant for so long, so I can't say that I am really missing much because ALL OF THIS is what I have been wanting! I will be glad to not have the aches and pains but even those are being embraced for my little girl! :)
Cravings: Nothing particular especially since I am in pain after I eat, but I am wanting to drink lots of cold water!
Best Moment this week: Her crib and bedding came in which is so exciting! But honestly just the daily reminder that she is really in there with her movements are the best moments for me!
What I am looking forward to: Moving through the weeks and enjoying all the craziness of the next 4 months until she gets here!

This weekend, my parents came up to celebrate my birthday with me and also to help move my brother and his family to town! I requested an ice cream cake but mom couldn't resist getting a Rick's cake too!!
Isn't this cake so cute??!!
We ate the cakes after moving my brother into his new house! I was looking lovely after all that non-moving I did! ha! No one would let me lift anything but my nephew, Seth! :)

Then on Sunday, my wonderful but very tired parents and husband, moved everything out of our office to our bonus room and now we have a cleared out room for Preslee!!

New and improved bonus room! I call it the overflow room for all our family that will be coming to visit when Preslee gets here!
Her room needs to be painted then we will be filling it with precious girly stuff!!

I had a wonderful birthday and can't believe that I will have an 8 month old by my next birthday!

Evan's Law School graduation!

I can't believe my little brother graduated from LAW school today!!! I could not be more proud of him! Our whole family was there to cheer for him and show him how much we love him!
Poor guy was just getting over a stomach virus from the day before! Thank the Lord he was well enough to walk!
He looked so sophisticated! :)
Baby Seth was not fond of his Daddy in that crazy looking hat!
Our whole family with the graduate! Seth missed his nap and was still not liking all the commotion and the hat! ha!
He was starting to warm up to the hat! He was very proud of "Dada" and said his name through most of the ceremony!
How can we be this old? I have a Lawyer for a brother!! :)
Another cute Ricks cake made the trip to Little Rock because of the stomach virus that went through their family, we just went out to eat instead of a party at their house!
Evan got some new "Lawyer" things! :)
Matt and I love our nephew so much and can't get enough of him!!

It was such a great day spent with many family members honoring Evan and all his hard work the last 3 years!! It's always good to a have a lawyer in the family! :)

CONGRATS EVAN!!

Parties and random week stuff.

I love any excuse to get to hang out with friends and baby showers and birthday parties are the best reasons to see friends! So last Sunday, I went to one of my former co-worker's baby shower! Aubrey, the one in the middle, is having a baby boy named Shepherd at the end of March! I can't wait to see this cutie pie!
The shower was done by Katie at Katie Grace Designs. She can really think of every single detail. She is so creative and such a good party planner! Like these cute boxes that we all signed and will be put in Shepherd's room!
The main table was a hot cocoa bar! There were toppings, flavors and these awesome chocolate spoons!!
All the guest got to take home a hot cocoa mug and one of the chocolate spoons! I am so glad that I got to attend such a sweet shower for such a sweet friend!

Sunday night, I went over to Jennifer's parent's house to eat pizza and cake for Jennifer's birthday! They are like my family and I enjoy any time I spend with them!
Jennifer had some help blowing out her candles! Sweet Brody didn't know what to think about the sparkler candles! :)
The gals at the party, minus Ms. Janis and baby Jillian! :)
When I got home from the party, I got some good snuggle time with my little boy!

This is a random pic but last week when we had our big winter storm, we had these huge icicles on our house! Matt brought this one in for us to see because is was SO LONG!! (I put gloves on bc it was so cold! ha!)

This week has been busy at work making up from all the snow days. I am really excited about the weekend though because one of my very best friends is coming up to stay with us! Stefan and Halle Kate haven't been here since August and I am just dying to see them! We plan to eat some good food and just hang out!

Lastly... The Westminster Dog Show was on tv this week! I missed the first night but caught the second. But a friend of mine sent me this link to see all Shiba's in the competition. I loved seeing all those little Romeo's smiling as they walked around the ring. You can see all the dogs in the competion at Westminster's website!
I wasn't a huge fan of the Scottish Deerhound that won but I am sure there were many deerhound owners that were very excited and proud!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT!

Today was Matt's 31st birthday!

We were so happy that his mom, brother, Chelsey, his aunt Kathy came to help us celebrate!

All of Matt's birthday goodies!

We got this cute cake from Rick's bakery and these really cool sparkler candles!

We ate dinner at Matt's favorite, Outback and then came home to have his little party! It was a great night!

My big boy trying to wish his daddy a happy birthday! :)

We had a family photo shoot after dinner! Matt's cousin, Brandon missed out on the fun. ha! But I thought this turned out pretty cute!

Hope my sweet husband had a great birthday! And I hope this year will be the best one yet! :)

jillian kate's shower

My best friend Jennifer is having a sweet baby girl next month. Jillian Kate Francis is going to be one loved girl! The shower was on Sunday and here are the photos of all the details...

The entry table had the invitation framed along with a vase with pink bubble gum for all the guest!

I loved how the table turned out. Our goal was a shabby chic feel with the birds/birdnest incorporated!

Ricks bakery totally out-did themselves!! The bottom layer is the exact print of her crib bedskirt and the mod bird is perfect!

Fruit kabobs were so precious in the pot full of moss! These were super easy and were a crowd favorite! :)

We wanted to have something chocolate so we made these mini brownies and then iced them. They were cute and actually looked like of like a birds nest.

Jennifer craved a bunch of candy during this pregnancy so we thought it would fun to share those yummies with everyone.

These pretzels were our salty food. And they were my absolute fav!

We thought banana pudding would be a cool summer treat for the shower guest.

Strawberry lemonade to go with all the PINK! :)

So many presents for the sweet baby girl! And I loved that we had the ultrasound dvd playing for everyone to see Jillian before she arrives Sept. 17th!

Mommy-to-be in one month!!

Jennifer with the hostesses- Leslie, Sarah, Maggie and Jill. This shower wouldn't have been so special without the help of all these girls!

I have more pics from the shower that I will post tomorrow. I wanted to share all the special details that went into this precious baby shower!
