Long weekend pt.2

On Sunday, I drove back up to NWA and I spent the rest of the weekend with this sweet boy!

Cole and his parents, Emily and Chris spent 2 nights with us. Emily is one of my best friends from college! Chris had to work in Fort Smith on Tuesday so thats why they came to stay. I was glad to have them at my house and to be able to spend some time with them!

Monday, we went to the Drive thru Safari in Gentry, AR! Cole LOVED it! And I will be honest, I have been 3 or 4 times, so obviously I loved it too. This time was really special because there are 2 baby tiger cubs that we got to play with. They were precious!! I want to go back before they get too big. They are 3 months old now and they will be there in the petting cage until they are 6-8 months old!

We spent a lot of time in the back yard with Romeo! Love these pics of the boys playing!

And now I will crash until we have Matt's family coming up this weekend! :)

Unbelievable!

I am not a huge fan of forwarded emails. But just when I get ready to delete some that I haven't read yet, something like this one pops up! My Papaw (who I told you about HERE) sends me a lot of forward emails so I have to give him credit for this one. I loved this so much, I decided to post it! Point to this story is read every email because there may be something magnificent inside!

When hurricane Hannah separated two white tigers from their mother, Anjana came to the rescue. Anjana is a chimp at the TIGERS in South Carolina. She became a surrogate mom and playmate to the cubs, even helping bottle feed the tigers. But here's the truly amazing part... This is something Anjana does all the time, having helped raised leopard and lion cubs on several occasions.

These pics are truly gorgeous and I just had to share them with you!

The email ended with this quote, that I thought was just perfect...

'Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle!'

'Sweet blue-eyed friend'

My sweet furry friend, Maui passed away today. I have had many cats in my 26 years but Maui was my absolute favorite!

I didn't initially pick him out of the litter. I had chosen a yellow cat, known as 'Nala' but my mom said she just couldn't leave this sweet little white cat with blue eyes so we took both home with us that day in April of 2000. Nala was an explorer who didn't live a very long life but Maui on the other hand didn't care to be to far from home. He was the cutest little white fur ball. As he grew bigger he turned brown but his eyes never changed! They were so blue and that made him special!

Everyone loved Maui, except our African Grey Parrot! He would even call Maui's name and try to get him to come to the cage door. Once Maui fell for it and stuck his paw through the bars of the cage and the bird tried to bite his paw! It was seriously so funny!!

Maui spent a lot of time with me when I lived at home and spent many nights sleeping beside me. He didn't like to exercise much and could always be found sleeping in my dad's closet. Maui ended up being one of the fattest cats I have ever seen weighing over 20 pounds!! He also had the loudest purr and cried every time I walked in the door because he loved me so much! He was so special to me that I even had my high school senior pictures made with him! I don't know if I will ever have a cat again but I will never forget all the memories with my sweet Mau Mau!

Matt and Maui came into my life within months of each other so they always had a special bond!

I don't have many digital pictures of Maui so these are after he was grown!
