Catching up.

The last couple of weeks, I have been trying to stay busy. There have a been a few days that I just had to play catch up and sleep a lot of the day but all in all, Preslee and I have had some fun times with family and friends.

Preslee and I were so happy to have Jillian, Brody and Jennifer spend the day with us a couple of weeks ago. We played all day and ate a good lunch at Cracker Barrel. We miss our weekly play dates with the Francis family but I am so thankful for them making the 4 hour trip down to see us!

Then the next week we had Preslee's best friends, Caroline and Annabel come down to visit us for the day! I love their mommas so much so it was so good to spend the day with them. I was very exhausted that day but we still had fun playing in Nanny's play room and then ate a great lunch at the Honeycomb!
I loved this Halloween outfit Miss P wore that day! :)
We loaded up for lunch in my moms van! We laughed at how we seriously couldn't imagine having multiples!

Then we had our first Halloween!! I had already bought her bumble bee outfit on etsy and I wanted her to have pics from her first Halloween so I made myself dress her up and walk her up and down my parents street.

When I was fixing her hair like antennas, I felt like a childhood dream was coming true! haha! I was so excited to be fixing my baby doll's hair!

We trick-or-treated with our spider friend Alli!

 Cutest little bee ever!
Funny story--- I didn't notice her wings were on upside down until AFTER we were done! Oh well! :)

Trick-or-treating pro! She loved getting to suck on a sucker!

One of my very best friends lives in town and our girls are only 3 weeks apart. I was so excited to get a picture of Elliott and Preslee together for their first Halloween!

We never got them to both look at us but I love all the pics we got! They are both full of personality and I am glad these girls now get to grow up together!

Halloween night was difficult. I wasn't too bothered by the fact that Matt wasn't physically with us because I had expected that he would be working. But the fact that I couldn't send him pictures of our bumble bee and hear how much he loved her costume just about killed me. I am glad I made myself carry on and make this memory but I am just so sad he wasn't apart of her first Halloween.

I feel like I am surviving. I am trying to make plans for my life with Preslee. We have moved back to our hometown where my parents, his mom and family and many of my friends live. I never would have imagined that I would be back here after leaving 6 years ago, but right now this town is comfort for me and I feel like I am doing the right thing by being here. I question just about everything about my life and wonder what Matt would say or do but I know without a doubt, he would want us here where we feel safe with family support!

Playdates and hair

The first part of this post is dedicated to Preslee's growing hair! ha! I love bows, but I have people ask me if she ALWAYS has a bow in. Well, most of the time the answer is yes because otherwise her hair is in her eyes! Look at this crazy mess!
Then sometimes a bow still doesn't help! ha! (She looks way too old in this pic!)
A lot of time while at home, I just put in it a little front ponytail thing! It's pretty funny looking but at least its out of her face! I just love all her hair and can't wait to (hopefully, if she's willing) do fun things with her hair!

Last week, we had a special visitor!! Annabel came to Little Rock and we got to play! It was a great day!
The girls are starting to really show affection and it was just too sweet seeing them together!
Preslee was trying to Annabel to stay in the chair! :)
Annabel might be the friendliest baby ever! She is always smiling at people and will hug people she doesn't even know well! I just love her and her momma!
I was so happy to have gotten this affectionate interaction on camera! Preslee came over and went to kiss Annabel then Annabel put her arms around Preslee and hugged her! Seriously it was the sweetest thing ever!

Preslee loves playing with other kids. I feel like she would like a mothers-day-out but I just love being with her and when I head back to work 2 days a week, my mom is going to come keep her! I know there are many opinions on this topic!
Stay at home moms... what age did your kids go to a MDO or day care?

Girls trip to Texas!

So here I go... time to do July catch up! :)

In the middle of July, mom and I decided to take a girls trip to Dallas to celebrate our summer birthdays! We got a great deal at the Gaylord Texan and spent two fun and relaxing days together with Preslee!

First on our agenda was meet up with my college friend Emily and her little girl Caroline! Preslee is just 3 weeks older than Caroline and we couldn't wait to get them together. We had a fun dinner at Pappasitos Mexican restaurant then sat outside on the patio to talk and take pictures of the girls!
It's crazy how much you love your friend's children!

Then we got checked in to the Gaylord Texan! Wow its a cool place!!
Preslee was very impressed and loved strolling around the hotel!

The next day we headed to the resort's water park for the day! It was SO much fun!!
We went around the lazy river probably almost 20 times! Preslee loved being in the water!
We also ate at Saltgrass Steak house and did lots of shopping. We had such a great time and can't wait to go back next year!

Childhood friends plus babies!

When I was home for Christmas, some of my hometown friends got together to hang out and have a play date with all the new kiddos! It was so fun to see each other since we don't all live near each other anymore!
Katie and her fiance Kevin were in town from NYC and arranged this get together! I was so excited for Katie to meet Preslee! :)
Kristin and me with our baby girls! Elliott was only 5 days old here! I love that we are mommies together and can't wait for our girls to be best friends like their mommas!
Preslee woke up and wasn't happy at all!
Mommies trying to get their babies to take a pic... but it just wasn't working at all!
Two of my best friends had boys a year ago and then the 2 girls were born this year so we tried to take a pic of the 4 kids... this is how it went!
Seriously, I laugh so hard every time I see this pic! The girls are NOT happy and the boys are so confused!
Gus is over the screaming and just got up to leave!

There is a special love I feel for my best friends kids! I can't wait for more play dates when they are older and the girls are a little more pleasant! :)

Preslee's Friends and Family

I am sorry I haven't blogged lately, but you mothers know how hard it is with a newborn! Please forgive me. We have been nursing every 2 to 3 hours around the clock. I didn't realize how tired I would be! So, my poor blog has suffered because of it. Hopefully, soon my energy level will return. Sleep would be nice, but we are really enjoying this time as a family of four.
We have had so many friends come by to see Preslee. It is so much fun showing her off. She doesn't fit in many of her clothes though because she is so little!
Sweet Brody really loves Preslee! He said, "Preslee is so beautiful!". It melted my heart!!
Melissa came over and bounced/patted Preslee while she cried! :)
Lucy, Mary and Jonathan Bost came over to see us and brought a basket full of goodies!
Aunt Rachel has been over a few times to love on Preslee!
Uncle Evan loves his niece! :)
My childhood best friend came all the way from Arkadelphia to see Preslee!! And she will be having baby Elliott THIS week! Can't believe our girls are only going to be 3 weeks apart!
Sweet Paula came to see Preslee and brought us a delicious meal!
Jennifer has been over many times of course, but Josh had to come meet Preslee too!
Some of Matt's family were here when we got home from the hospital! I am so glad they came.

My mom has been here all except 4 days I have been home. I could not have done it without her. In fact, she is helping me type this blog. My dad has also been here to help out getting breakfast and walking the dogs.

I wish I had time to add more and more pics of all the family and friends that have visited us in the last 3 weeks! We feel so blessed by all of them! Despite the whirlwind of fatigue, I am so happy to have this sweet baby in my arms!
