Snow day randomness.

Well its officially another snow day in Northwest Arkansas. I haven't been outside because its in the teens with wind chill around -5 and its still blowing snow. Not my idea of fun, but it is pretty! Maybe later I will venture out and take more pics!

After Christmas, I decided to rearrange our bedroom. Then on new years day, we got new bedding! I have been slowly working on our room to get it the way I want it.

These are iphone pics so they aren't the best quality but, I love the brown and red now in our room!

I finally got curtains after 2 years! I love them!! They helped finish the room. Now I just want to find something bigger to go where the mirror is. But until then, I think I am finally done!

But there is one problem with the curtains... Romeo is scared of them and will NOT sleep in his bed next to them!

I felt bad for him early this morning when I found him sleeping in my closet so I just put his bed in the closet. He has barely moved from there all day! ha! Shiba's can be so weird with any kind of change!

I decided to be somewhat productive on this snow day... I cleaned our pantry! I filled up 3 bags of trash!

Before.

After...
I feel so much better getting rid of a lot of old foods that we were never going to eat!

I have been slacking big time on my hair chat post. Maybe soon I will get the urge to do another one. But in the mean time, a college friend and fellow hair stylist blogged yesterday about hair so I thought I would share this with all of you that like talking about hair!

Hope everyone is staying warm on this cold first day of February!

First snow of the winter!

We woke up this morning to a snow covered city and Romeo and I were ready to go play!!

Love these little doggie paws prints in the snow!

Romeo can't get enough of the snow!

Our street covered in beautiful snow!

Time to measure the snow!

6 INCHES in the front yard!!

Now, I will stay inside my warm house and hopefully get caught up on some house work!

OH, lets be honest... I will probably just lay under my heated throw blanket and read my kindle! :)

Here are few videos of our crazy boy loving the snow!!

Christmas home tour.

Welcome to the Turner's Christmas house tour!

Entry table with a few simple decorations.

My dining room is the most decorated room and it probably wont even be used! ha! Oh well! I like to see it everyday!

I didn't like the way my tree turned out this year. But I didn't have the energy to change it! It's still cozy and I love laying on my couch and seeing the living room decorated!

Love getting our Christmas cards from family and friends and love my new snowman pot with a beautiful poinsettia!

Breakfast table area. Love my ornament accent plates!

I didn't get as much put out or spend as much time on my kitchen this year but at least there are a few festive things out!

Guest bathroom decorated with some snowmen!

Merry Christmas from Romeo!

Happy Fall Y'all!

I put up my fall decor last week! I was trying to hold out until October but I just couldn't wait! Just wanted to share my fall decorations with blog friends...

Love this new frame I got this year! It's my new favorite fall decor!

I normally don't put out anything for Halloween but I got a few things from my moms garage sale last year! I thought the BEWARE tea-light candle holders were cute!

Full kitchen view

I have placed the table in years past but it gets annoying having to move the plates off when you want to eat at the table so I decided to do something simple this year!

Love all sorts of pumpkins!

I will put up the jack-o-lantern face and the BOO pumpkin after Halloween but I liked the new additions this year!

Lastly, our office got a new couch! My mom didn't want a couch anymore that was in her sitting room and asked if I wanted it! I have had this maroon couch since college. Its a great couch because it is a sleeper sofa but I think it's ugly and it attracts tons of dog hair! So needless to say, I wasn't sad to see it go! :)

Before.
After. And I think much better!
Eventually I would love to have this in our bedroom but just not sure if there is room in our bedroom now. Maybe in the future!

Patio Makeover

So... I finally finished the patio furniture! It took a little longer than I wanted and it's not perfect but I am very pleased with how it turned out! I first sprayed a deck cleaner on the the table and chairs. Then I scrubbed it with a brush and soap. I wiped on a pre-stain then put the redwood stain to finish it! I probably will end up putting a clear protectant coat on it but I need a break before then. Here are some photos of the transformation!

Before picture = gross old wooden patio furniture!

Mid transformation: Cleaned chair and a stained chair.

All done and ready for company to come over for a patio dinner! :)

I can't wait to hang our new patio lights, light the tiki torches and spend many warm summer nights outside!

And this is Romeo's happy face because Momma and Daddy will be outside more with him!

Weekend Recap

This weekend we had no real plans and it was so nice! Saturday, I worked for the few hours. Then I came home and took a long nap!

I have been wanting to makeover our back patio for some time now, and so I decided this weekend would be a good time to start!

I got this beautiful hanging plant at Westwood Garden.

Then I scrubbed down our patio furniture! I couldn't believe how gross it was!!

This is just a sneak peek because I actually didn't finish all the staining yet! The table and chairs started out as redwood so I just decided to stay with that.

FYI on staining furniture:

My mom and I had bought a can of stain over a year ago. I shook it up but didn't stir it. I painted 2 chairs and bench and just thought that it was light and I would have to put a 2nd coat on it. Well the fact is that if I had stirred it then I would have realized all the dark red stain was at the bottom! Uggh! And I wouldn't have had to go buy a second can and repaint everything again! So that's why I'm still not finished! I will upload lots of pics of the finished product! I can't wait to spend summer nights outside!

Also...I can't wait to go visit one of my very best friends from college tomorrow! She had her baby girl last Sunday and I'm literally dying to meet sweet baby Halle Kate!

Isn't she precious?! She weight 6 pounds 1 oz and was 19 inches long! I can't wait to love on this tiny girl!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Merry Christmas Y'all!

Welcome everyone!!

It's my favorite time of the year!! I love showing my Christmas decorations to all my blog friends and I love looking thru all the blogs on the Christmas home tour!

The entry table when you first walk in my house!

I added the wreath this year because I felt like the nativity was plain last year! I like the way it turned out!

These are new this year! A friend gave me one for hosting shower so I went to Pier 1 and got two more and then filled them with red ornaments!

Living room decorations! It feels so warm and cozy this time of the year!

Our new $7 stockings from Kohls! I am loving them!

If you stopped by last year, then you will remember Romeo's stocking! He still loves it and will bark at it signaling me to turn it on and it sings and barks!

On to the Kitchen...

Holiday cook book and cute snowflake platter and mugs flanking the stove.

Love Tollhouse chocolate chip swirl Christmas cookies!!

Have to support the Hogs no matter the season! :)
