Big Changes & Exciting News!

I'm so sorry I've been absent from the blog lately but life has been crazy the last month!

Preslee is keeping us really busy, especially now that she's so mobile. We've also been out of town quite a bit lately. However, I'm planning to catch up on some events I haven't been able to share and the biggest news is the fact that Matt has been hired as the evening news anchor at KTHV (CBS) in Little Rock!

So after nine years working as a sports anchor and news anchor in Northwest Arkansas, Matt has been given a great opportunity to be the main news anchor at a fantastic TV station that's in a larger market and closer to home!

Along with it being his dream job, this move also means we'll live less than one hour away from our families in Arkadelphia! As you can imagine, they're very excited about being able to see Preslee more often and now they can watch Matt every night on the news!

I'm extremely proud of my husband and wanted to share the press release "Today's THV" released today about Matt.

Click HERE to read the announcement and tell your friends to start watching Channel 11 because Matt wants to help the station gain as many viewers as possible!

So there's a quick update about our family! I will hopefully get back to blogging on a regular basis very soon!

Southern Miss

Back in 1998, Matt left home to go to college 6.5 hrs away in Hattiesburg, Mississippi! He went to play football but after a year at Southern Miss, he decided to come back home and play football at OBU. I am glad he came back since we started dating that next year but I know that his time at Southern Miss will always be a great memory for him!  He's a Southern Miss fan for life!

Matt was so excited that we would be driving right past the campus on our way to Florida this year! We decided to make Hattiesburg our pit stop for dinner and to let Preslee stretch her legs and of course she had to change into her SMU onesie! I love all these pics and how happy they both look!
Matt loved showing us where he lived his freshman year and talk about all his great memories of his time there!

More on our trip to Destin up next!

Race for the Cure

Preslee attended her first Race for the Cure this weekend! Matt and his co-host Neile do a live broadcast from the race so Preslee even made her tv debut!
I found this special tutu onesie for her to wear to the race! It had a pink ribbon on it and said Fight like a Girl!
They interviewed many people that are apart of the race and even these young girls who trained for the event! I really like the Race for the Cure in NWA because it's more of a family event! They have many races that even include a kids race and a Bark for the Cure!

Neile loves baby P!
Preslee was up from 6:30-10:30am and was so good! She never really even fussed! I think she is going to be a people watcher like her momma! ha!
I LOVE this picture of my loves! Matt was so proud to show off Preslee to everyone!

We had a great weekend just spending time with our little family! We ate pizza and laid on the couch the rest of the weekend. Preslee even watched a 2 hour movie with us on the couch yesterday! She is just growing up daily and is such a sweet girl!

Preslee turned 5 months yesterday so as soon as I take her monthly pic, I will get that post up! :)

A day at work with Dad!

The anchors and their dogs had a photo shoot for the local humane society yearly calander! So this meant Romeo got to go to work with Dad!
Matt and Romeo, Neile and Phong, Tom and Diesel, Laine with Ozzie and Jazz
Getting all the dogs to look at the same time was a bit difficult! I was shaking a bag of treats like a crazy stage mom! :)
I think Romeo had a fun time! He always loves to go to the tv station and gets lots of love when he is there!!

Kiss a Pig.

I thought I had posted this a few weeks ago... I guess better late than never.

We attended the Kiss a Pig gala for the 4th year in a row! Matt and his co-anchor had the privilege of being emcees at this great event again! It's one of the biggest charity events in NWA with over 1,000 people in attendance! The pig was one of the first sources of insulin for diabetes patients. This event helps raise money for the American Diabetes Association! Who ever raises the most money for the event gets to kiss the pig at the end of the evening!

This little piglet was only 3 weeks old. She was so cute with her scarf on. She was very content in her owners arms but if she got passed around she did some squealing! They said in 5 months she will be 250 pounds! That is so hard to believe because she is so darn cute now!
We got to spend the evening at a table with some of Matt's co-workers and spouses! It was a lot of fun!
The KNWA crew with the little piggy!
The entertainment was AMAZING this year! It was based off a Cirque du Solie show! These people's talents and strengths are so incredible!
This was seriously crazy! This man held up 2 grown people!
WOW! Insane!
One of my best friends, Emily was at the event too! I love when I have people to talk to at these things! And I love that we dressed alike without evening knowing it! :)
I will be honest, sometimes I dread having to get a dress and get all dressed up to go to these events but they always turn out to be fun and it's such a great excuse to take pics with my handsome hubby!

Happy Valentines day to me!

Saturday night, Matt took me out to eat at my favorite place, SHOGUN!! I seriously could eat a whole plate of their rice! :) And I actually think I ate more than Matt did! After dinner, Matt told me that he had me a present. I was surprised by a specific "Tiffany" blue box! I have never had anything from Tiffany and Co. but any girl knows that anything in a blue box is going to be fabulous!!

To say I was excited was an understatement. I just wanted to look at the box and take pics with the box before I even opened it! HA! Matt had no clue how excited I would be. He said he never knows what to get for me but he knows now that I will love anything in a blue box! :)

I love my new bracelet! I have paired it on my left arm with my watch that he gave me last Christmas. It was so sweet and thoughtful of Matt and I will cherish for a long time!

Hope everyone has a GREAT Valentines day!!!

Special Prayer request: I found out this morning that my Papaw had a mini stroke. He hasn't been feeling good for the last few days and his blood pressure was very high this morning when he finally went to the hospital! My mom jumped on a plane this afternoon to go to Florida to be with him. (He lives in Tennessee but spends the winters in FL) If he keeps feeling better and progresses over night, he could leave the hospital tomorrow. Please say a prayer for my special Papaw who I LOVE sooooo much!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT!

Today was Matt's 31st birthday!

We were so happy that his mom, brother, Chelsey, his aunt Kathy came to help us celebrate!

All of Matt's birthday goodies!

We got this cute cake from Rick's bakery and these really cool sparkler candles!

We ate dinner at Matt's favorite, Outback and then came home to have his little party! It was a great night!

My big boy trying to wish his daddy a happy birthday! :)

We had a family photo shoot after dinner! Matt's cousin, Brandon missed out on the fun. ha! But I thought this turned out pretty cute!

Hope my sweet husband had a great birthday! And I hope this year will be the best one yet! :)

Mercy Charity Ball.

Saturday night, Matt and I attended the 17th Annual Mercy Health Foundation of Northwest Arkansas Charity Ball. It was so much fun getting to go to a black tie event!

My hot date for the Mercy Ball! ;)

Greg and Neile looking great! Neile is Matt's co-anchor!

Greg, Neile, Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe, me, Matt & Dick Tramell

Our KNWA table at the ball.

Mercy Ball was one of the biggest charity events I have been too!

My handsome husband as one of the emcees of the ball!

Matt with some of his co-workers and country music star, Chris Young, who performed at the ball.

He sang a few of his own songs along with some Christmas music!

It was a wonderful night with my husband and friends!!

Gentlemen of Distinction Event

We attended an event Friday night in Rogers to raise money for HOPE Cancer Resources. Matt was selected as a "Gentlemen of Distinction", which means he and several other men from Northwest Arkansas modeled Hugo Boss clothing during the fashion show.

Bauman's Clothing store dressed all the men! They all looked great with everything from casual wear to a tux!

We loved this suit so much that we purchased it after the event with a great discount because Matt participated in the fashion show!

I was very proud of my model husband! :)

All 13 of the models came back out for a final walk!

Matt and me with his co-anchor Neile and her husband/my table date for all these events, Greg! :)

The 7th annual Gentlemen of Distinction event is hosting by Jeannie Fleeman, who lost her husband to cancer in 1999. Bill Fleeman founded Car-Mart in 1981 and Jeanie still lives in their mansion in Rogers.

She invited all of us to their home last week and it's beyond amazing. Pictures don't do it justice... It was absolutely amazing!

Great day. Tough Loss.

Saturday was a really great day with a sad ending! :( The Hogs lost 24-20. More on that later... We didn't get much sleep because we were so excited about the game. Matt's tv station had a live show from 11-1. It was fun to be at the game early and be apart of the excitement of this big game!

Matt and Aaron Peters during the live show.

So glad that we share a love for the Razorbacks! :)

My good friends/kids I used to babysit for... Austin and Abby White! Can't believe how big they have gotten!

I was so excited that I got to see one my best friends and cute mommy-to-be, Tizzie!

Matt got ahold of hog fan Britney Haynes, who was on Big Brother 12 and interviewed her about the show and the Hogs!

I was so excited to get to see Britney! I haven't seen her in 2 years since I did her hair. We talked about Big Brother, being home from the show, pagaents and much more! She is such a sweet girl!

Matt & me with Britney and her fiance, Nick before the game!

The sea of RED and the goodyear blimp circling the stadium!

The game ball was parachuted into the stadium! It was pretty cool to see the guys coming from way up in the sky!

GAME TIME!!
This was the best moment of the game! I started having a good feeling at this point. But our poor Hogs just couldn't pull of a win yesterday. The 4th quarter was just bad.

It was really was such a great game and I am so glad I was there in person! It was the highest attendance at any Razorback game at 76,808! Hogs have an off week this week which I think will be needed for all of us Hog fans to be able to get over this loss! But all in all... I am still VERY proud to be an Arkansas Razorback!!!
