Lisa and Steve got married!

My mother-in-law, Lisa got married on June 29th! She lost her husband September 4, 2005. After being a widow for almost 8 years, Steve walked into her life just 6 weeks after Matt died. They met November 17th on a blind date with some mutual friends. They hit it off immediately and the rest is basically history! :) She was engaged on Valentines day and is now a married woman and even moved about an 1.5hr away to his hometown. He has 3 teenage daughters who have gained a wonderful stepmom! She has been through so much and it's truly a great thing to see her happy! I wanted to share some pics from the wedding and show off what I believe is the most precious flower girl ever! :)

I love to write on the blog about our life so I will remember special things but I also have found so many blogs to be inspiring. So my hope for this post is for all the widows that might be reading this, including myself, will see that there are many happy days in the future!

Uncle Andy's wedding!

Playing a little catch up from July! 

Matt's brother, Andy got married to Chelsey on 7.21.12! We had a great weekend celebrating this couple! It was a very hot weekend, especially for an outside wedding but it all turned out great! 

 Rehearsal dinner was at a cabin on the river with fried chicken and lots of good food!

Their wedding was at the Davidson Campground tabernacle! A very special place for Matt's family after spending a week there every year and his father preached there many times! 

 Preslee was the "Flower baby" and of course in my opinion, she couldn't have been any more precious! :) 

 Preslee has a great-grandmother and grandmother that love her so much!

Elevator Nightmare & Wedding Fun!

A childhood friend of mine got married in Little Rock last weekend. I drove down to the wedding and met my parent's at the church! After a beautiful ceremony in downtown LR, everyone hopped on trollies to go to the reception at the groom's parent's high-rise condo!

My parents and I, along with at least 200 guests, all waited for 3 elevators to take us up to the 17th floor. When it was our turn, 18 adults and 3 kids filed onto the elevator. We were all very excited to see the bride and groom and escape the heat since it was SO hot outside!

Well.... the elevator door closed but nothing happened. After pushing the buttons to go up -- we sat perfectly still. After a few seconds, we pushed the buttons again to re-open the doors...but quickly discovered that they wouldn't budge!

I can't even begin to tell you how hot it was in that elevator! We were standing shoulder to shoulder with so many people -- and there seemed to be NO air supply!

The first 5 min, I was kind of freaking out inside. Obviously there was no real danger of me going into labor at 23 weeks but that was my first thought as I realized we were going to be there a while. We yelled and banged on the door but it seemed like no one could hear us, so we waited for about ten whole minutes! Finally, someone outside the elevator told us the fire department was on its way!

After 40 minutes of sweating, worrying and praying for freedom... the doors FINALLY opened up!!

In order to open the doors, the firemen had to go to the rooftop and turn off electricity to the elevators. Once they did that, they used a crow bar to open the door! We were finally free!

And to my surprise, one of my guy friends from high school was one of the firemen that got us out of the elevator!! I have never been so happy to see Jesse!!

We finally made it to the reception where we got some food, water... and of course CAKE!

My sweet friend Jessica was there and I was so glad to get out of the elevator to see her!

LOOK at these amazing shoes that this fabulous bride wore!! Seriously, they were to die for!

Lauren was seeing my belly bump for the first time! She was cracking me up rubbing and talking to Preslee in the middle of her wedding reception!

So happy for this sweet girl and I will go ahead and say that I will NEVER forget her wedding or missing 40 min of her reception while I was stuck in that dang elevator!!

Jill's wedding weekend!

There are a ton of pics I want to share from this fantastic weekend! It all started on Thursday...

We went to Dizzy's in downtown Little Rock for a bridesmaid dinner and lingerie shower!

Then Friday morning, we had a bridesmaid luncheon! It was a sweet and intimate lunch before all the craziness of the wedding weekend started!

Friday night was the Rehearsal and rehearsal dinner! Jill practiced going down the aisle with her beautiful bow bouquet!

Dinner was at the Clinton Presidential library in downtown Little Rock!

We had the best Italian dinner!! Salad, Lasagna, Chicken parmesan with noodles and bread sticks. Topped of with Tiramisu for dessert!

Saturday was WEDDING DAY!! Jennifer, Jillian and I arrived first at the church to get setup and start doing hair!

This is a sock bun! There is an actual sock in there, rolled up to make her bun bigger! I will do a blog post explaining how to do it soon! Its super easy!
