Thanksgiving 2011

Matt and I always travel home for holidays so this year since we couldn't travel anywhere for Thanksgiving so my family came to us! We really missed being with Matt's family and missed being in the annual family picture!! But next year we will be there and it will be extra special with Miss Preslee in it!

My parents and grandpa came to our house on Tuesday. I was so excited that my Papaw was coming all the way from Tennessee! I was wishing Preslee would decide to join us a little early so he could meet her but that didn't end up happening. But we had a great 3 days with him and can't wait to see him again at Christmas!

My dad fried the turkey this year! This was the first time we have done this and it was SO good! I want to do it that way from now on!

It was so moist and was seasoned with Tony Chachere! It was SO yummy!

Mom and I made pecan pie and banana pudding! I seriously could have eaten all that pudding myself! ha!

Papaw got to spend a little time with Seth too! He had met him back in May but he was in the hospital with his broken hip and barely remembered us being there! I thought this pic was super sweet!

Thanksgiving Day

Each year we eat lunch on Thanksgiving day with Matt's mom's family! We take a coordinated group pic each year as well! I didn't take 1 picture all day so I will have to get them from others but here is the group shot this year! None of us wanted to wear the sunglasses but we all were made to by Aunt Kathy! I thought it turned out pretty cute! When I get the others there is one that is a normal pose but this was our fun one!!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I had a great time but I am feeling so fat from all the food I ate!!! uggh!!

Its here!! I am so looking forward to seeing Matt's family and mine tomorrow! And of course eating really good food! I have SO many things to be thankful for this year... Matt, our family, and good friends are the biggest blessings in my life!!

Thanksgiving 2008

Thanksgiving is always such a long weekend. We see a lot of people during those few days but we always make many new memories and have a few funny stories in there too!! First pics are of Matt's family's Thanksgiving in Arkadelphia.

This is Shelby. Matt's aunt has 2 Great White Pyrenees. They are such sweet dogs but they are HUGE! I just thought this was a cute picture.

Ok... This is Matt's family getting ready to take the the annual Thanksgiving picture. If you will notice we are all trying to get 6 dogs to look at the camera! My parents are whistling while snapping the camera.

AND WE DID IT!!! Isn't that crazy that everyone is looking including the dogs!

Opryland in Nashville, TN was all decorated for Christmas! We spent the night there on Friday night and had a blast!

Busy week!

Last weekend, we went to Arkadelphia after Matt got off work on Friday. My mom cooked a fabulous dinner on Saturday. Funny story though... My dad cleaned up the kitchen after we all ate and put the casseroles in the oven to keep the dogs from getting in them. He left to go back to the duck camp. We smelled something burning about an hour later and my mom went to check... He had left the oven on!!! So all of my moms food that she had stayed up all night cooking was ruined! I mean CHARRED! It was so sad. She was so upset to not get to eat left overs. At least we all got to eat together and it really was so delicious!

Sunday my mom and I hosted a baby shower for my friend Kassi and her sweet baby Eevi. Here are few sweet pics of Eevi Bliss Talbot.

My poor husband is always sick and of course ended up getting the stomach bug on Sunday while we were at the shower. We finally got him some meds in the early evening but we didn't drive back until Monday so he could rest on Sunday night.

We are headed back down to Arkadelphia tomorrow for Thanksgiving. So much driving!! We will be doing lunch with Matt's moms side of the family. It is always held out at this great-grandfathers farm house. Its so fun to see everyone and eat a great meal. And of course our annual football game is the highlight of the day!

Then the rest of the weekend will be in Tennessee. We always visit my moms side of the family during Thanksgiving. I am so excited! I can not wait to be there. I will add tons of pics and tell all about my weekend in Nashville next week!
