Mother's Day!

Today is my first Mother's day! I have always wanted to be a mom so this was a very special year to finally get to celebrate!
I love this new picture of us taken before church this morning!
I have been wanting a Mom ring so Matt and Preslee got me one for my Mother's day present! I love it!

My parents came up this weekend so that we could be together for my nephew, Seth's baby dedication at their church!
The dedication was during the 8:00 service. It was rough getting up so early but we love this sweet boy and didn't want to miss it!
Daddies and their babies are so sweet!
 Mr. Cool after church!
Seth put on a drum show before brunch!
And our mom's opened their gifts!
Brunch was delicious! We had pumpkin bread, blueberry muffins, strawberry bread, sausage rolls and fresh fruit!

I feel so blessed to be this beautiful baby girl's momma! I will never forget the pain I felt on mother's day for the years I struggled with infertility but when I look at this sweet face, I know it was all worth it!

Hope all of you had a good mother's day and if you are praying-to-be a momma, never give up hope! You never know what your next Mother's day will be like!

Mother's day weekend.

Well this weekend was supposed to go down like this... Go to our hometown on Friday night, spend time with Mother-in-law, go to cousins high school graduation, then spend Mother's day with both of our moms. But on Friday morning, I got a call saying that my Papaw had fallen and broken his hip! :( So this turned into basically all my family heading to Tennessee to be with him. Matt and Romeo still went home and spent the weekend with his mom and family but mine was spent in the car and a hospital room! But I am so thankful I got to go see my Papaw and to at least see my mom on Mothers day!

We did presents in the hospital room on Sunday!
She had a cute little helper this year to open her gifts!
So glad that Evan, Rachel, Seth and I made the trip to see our sweet Papaw!
Sometimes it's hard to grasp that my little brother is a DAD! He is so good with Seth and Seth just adores his DADA so much! (PS. I am so ready to show you his cute face... but still can't until the adoption is finalized!)
The cousins who came to see Papaw and they were excited to meet Seth too!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's day!!

Awesome Saturday!

Here are the highlights from an awesome Saturday with my mom!!

First we shopped, shopped and shopped! I.O. Metro store and their outlet, T.J.Max, Target, Warren's shoes, Francesca's, Bath and Body Works, Victoria Secret, and Sephora... Whew! I think I named them all! Speaking of Sephora...

I got some Tan Towels!! I can't wait to try these. I will let ya know how they work!

We ended our afternoon with a trip to BLISS Cupcakes Cafe!

I got one of these... Marshmellow Brownie.

And I one of these... Confetti Funfetti!

This place is DELICIOUS! And the scary part is, it is about a block from my Salon! I am already looking forward to returning back for more cupcakes!

For dinner, my Dad grilled hamburgers! While in NYC, mom and I ate this amazing spicy corn. I searched online for the recipe and found one that I think it pretty similar. So I made it to go with the burgers and it was really good!

Wanted to share the recipe with you just in case you might love corn and spice as much as I do! :)

  • Mexican style (Spicy) Corn on the cob
  • 4 ears corn on the cob, husked
  • mayonnaise
  • shredded parmesan cheese
  • cayenne pepper, depends on how hot you like it (to taste)
  • 1 piece bread (this is for ease of putting mayo on corn)

Directions

  1. 1
Roast the corn on a charcoal grill just until tender and you have nice grill marks.
  2. 2
Liberally spread mayo on piece of bread.
  3. 3
Roll hot ears on the bread.
  4. 4
    Sprinkle parmesan cheese on.
  5. 5
Sprinkle cayenne pepper on (to taste).
I hate that I didn't get to see my mom on Mother's Day. But we had such a great time today so we are just making this her Mother's Day! :)

A Thousands Thanks

Matt and I wouldn't be who we are without our moms and today we are extra thankful for them! This is a special Mother's day thank you.

Mother's Day brings to mind... The thousands of things you did for me that helped make me happier, stronger and wiser, because I had you as a role model.

I'm grateful for all the times you healed my hurts and calmed my fears, so that I could face the world feeling safe and secure.

I'm thankful for all you showed me about how to love and give-- lessons that now bring so many blessings to me each and every day.

Your sacrifices and unselfishness did not go unnoticed, Mom. I admire you, I respect you, I love you. I am so glad you are my mother!

Happy Mother's Day to our moms- Anita Bell and Lisa Turner.
WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!

Happy Birthday Lisa!

Today is my beautiful Mother-in-law's birthday! She is one special lady! Lisa is by far the strongest person I know and is a true example of a Godly woman!

She is a wonderful mother to her boys and truly shows them what unconditional love is all about!

I don't know what Matt and I would do without you! We love you Sissy! :)

We are having a party for her this weekend when she comes to visit us, so I will be posting the pics of her birthday celebration!

Mom's Birthday weekend

Mom came up alone this past weekend so that we could do whatever she wanted to do for her birthday weekend. Matt and I took her to Bonefish Grill on Saturday night and it was delicious! She had said that she didn't want a cake but I didn't listen to her and surprised her with a cake of the 3rd child's face on it! It was was the cutest Rick's cake that I have ever seen!!

We were really excited about the Bang Bang shrimp!

She screamed when she saw this! Ricks did such a good job creating this to look just like Kota!

Mom and Kota with the cute cake!

He thought it looked like him too! :)

Birthday party time!

The boys got to lick the plate!

She didn't want to eat Kota, so all weekend we ate around him! HAHAH! This is what was left on Monday and was finally eaten as well. The cake was almost to cute to eat though!

Sunday afternoon Mom, Jennifer and I went bike riding around Lake Fayetteville. It was not nearly as easy as I thought. It was very hot outside and the trail was NOT FLAT! HA!

As soon as we got there the chain on mom's bike came off but I came to the rescue and fixed it. Jennifer and Mom were in disbelief that I knew how to fix a chain on a bike! :)

This is what happened during the bike chain repair.

After the bike ride we went to Petco. I needed to get Romeo's toenails clipped so we decided to take them both. Kota isn't very well behaved so he had to ride in the buggy! HAHA! He talked to everyone that walked by and even tried to pick out some new toys.

He loved the parakeets!

The good boys got bandannas at Petco!

And Kota got a neck tie!! HAHAH! I laugh out loud every time I see this pic!

All in all, we had a great weekend relaxing, eating and shopping! I love when our family comes up to visit. And Romeo loves when his dog friends come too! We will be dog sitting this weekend so more dog post are likely this week! :)

Today is my wonderful mother's birthday!! She is my best friend and I really don't know what I would do with out her. I talk to her multiple times a day and she is constantly thinking of me, trying to fix any problems I have and always has great advice! I am so thankful that she was a stay at home mom and truly made my brother's and my life the BEST it could possibly be! I hope that I can be as good of a mom as you have been Mom!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!
